Another slice of tub-thumping blues from the inimitable duo who continue to make more noise than any two people reasonably should. Slicing and dicing guitar lines from Jack White coupled with Meg’s characteristically wild, thrashing Bam-Bam drumming and some tasty Hammond organ make this another classic from the Stripes and a worthy follow-up to ‘Icky Thump’. More commercial sounding and boasting a tighter structure than its predecessor, ‘You Don’t Know What Love Is’ has one of those melodies that you’ll be humming all day in the office and infecting colleagues with at every turn. Triumphant, joyous and, yes, hugely loud, this is folk-rock-on-speed at its very finest.
